Ooooh, a brand I haven’t heard of yet!
(Kid. Candy store. Sue me.)
Coclico
The skinny, from Gilt’s website:
It’s hard to believe shoes this chic are sustainably minded, but Coclico uses natural dyes and lightweight cork inside their swanky soles. Sandals with cutout details define this Spanish line’s style and there are plenty here in every iteration, from pretty latticed T-straps with lattice-like patterns to peep-toe wedges to strappy flats.
Backstory
Designed in Manhattan and made in Mallorca, Coclico’s sustainably minded wedges, flats and heels are chic enough no matter which island you’re walking around on. Leather and suede are colored naturally with bark, fruit and seed extracts, and the label’s high but comfy platform wedges are made from lightweight cork. Known for their architectural details and one-of-a-kind designs, Coclico’s footwear is made to be your next wardrobe workhorse.
I have been scouring for MONTHS for the perfect natural-looking wedges…maybe Coclico will have them. (Vegans: note that these are made with leather and suede. The sustainable side comes from natural coloring and materials – animal and otherwise.)
Which style is your “it shoe” for summer, and have you found the perfect pair yet?
These sustainable shoes are being sold by my sample sale lover, Gilt (God, I’m obsessed), so if you need an invite, use this one right here. Gilt’s got a no-spam policy, and if you pick something up Awakened Aesthetic gets a boost – which means more giveaways and fun stuff for you!
