As spring draws nearer, I find myself appreciating more and more the things that grow out of the ground. They sense it, too: the cactus is flowering, my hyacinth came back from its store-bought-and-potted death, and bunches of daffodils shot up through the late winter frost last week.
I’m ready to be out in the woods, watching the life come back.
